Ingrid Sonnichsen (Director)
has acted professionally for over thirty-five years in regional theaters such as the Huntington, ART, and the Charles (Boston), the Guthrie (Minneapolis), Mark Taper Forum and LAAT (Los Angeles), Long Wharf (New Haven), and Ford’s Theater and the Kennedy Center in D.C.
She’s worked on Broadway (Best Friend), Off-Broadway (Dylan and Measure for Measure), and in numerous commercials and voiceovers, both national and local, as well as ten seasons of summer stock.
In Pittsburgh she has done three shows with PICT (The Dead, Hedda Gabler, and Major Barbara – in Pittsburgh and at the Galway Arts Festival), The Credeaux Canvas with City Theatre, The Crucible and Le Grand Meaulnes for Quantum, Comedy of Errors at the Pittsburgh Public, and Shear Madness for the CLO Cabaret Theater. She has directed three shows for Carnegie Stage (Inky, Scared of Sarah, and The Small Room at the Top of the Stairs) and acted in A Feminine Ending and Agnes of God as well.
Ms. Sonnichsen began teaching acting at Carnegie Mellon in 1995, and is even busier now that she’s recently retired. Last year she directed Carnegie Mellon’s Senior Showcases in New York and Los Angeles.
Currently she is busy doing acting workshops for the University of Tennessee, Chattanooga.
