off the WALL is growing! Meet Sarah!

Sarah Shea is a stage manager, director, and freelance theatre artist based in New York City. A graduate from Hunter College, Sarah has spent the past several years working on as much theatre as possible, in just about every capacity imaginable. Some recent credits include the Hunter College MFA Thesis Festival, and Hunting Gun at the Baryshnikov Arts Center. Sarah previously worked with Off the Wall in 2022 on What Kind of Woman and is so excited to be working with this team again! Much love to all her friends and family.

Sarah began working with Off the Wall in the fall of 2022 on the show What Kind of Woman. Sarah was recommended to the director Kira Simring—coincidentally by another stage manager named Sarah! Sarah was able to come in and take over What Kind of Woman as the Stage Manager when it moved from Pittsburgh up to New York City. Sarah is so excited to be back working with Off the Wall again this year!

Sarah has a love for every piece of theatre that she works on, but one that holds a special place in her heart is Far Away by Caryl Churchill which Sarah directed in 2019. This play helped Sarah hone in on her love for directing and allowed her to create theatre with some of her best friends and greatest collaborators, and she will always cherish the memories of that show.

Sarah is excited to work with Off the Wall again because she loves the theatre family within Off the Wall. Sarah had a great experience working with them last year, and is excited for this new opportunity to work on a brand new show with them! Sarah is also excited to be joining the Off the Wall family in Pittsburgh for its run there, and then transferring it up to NYC’s The Chain Theater.
